It's a bit heavy handed in terms of shock value but overall a good read with some of the best comic art I've ever seen.

Interesting premise, eye-popping artwork, and gorgeous colors! An incredible start to the series!!

I had no idea the Lewis and Clark Expedition involved giant frogs and giant bugs. Learn something everyday. Actually, I know quite a bit about the trails and this is very fictional. I like history fantasy/horror stuff though. Don't read this if you want facts, read this if you want fun. Now I want Vol. 3 to come out!

This volume, I thought, was a little slow. There is a lot of drama going on, but not much supernatural action besides that ghost manipulating the team. I still love the art in this book.

I should note reading this book after reading the actual journals this summer was interesting. Dare I say this book is better written? The original journals have a ton of spelling and grammatical errors that makes it hard to read at times.
