This was an enjoyable read, but nowhere near as good as all the 5-star ratings will have you believe.

The story started rather like a fan-fiction mash-up between X-Men and James Bond Jr, and had some cheesy Mission Impossible references. It then continues filled with clichés.
And just when the cheese-factor seemed to quiet down a bit, Jillian Dodd dialled it up to ten again, throwing Intrepid into the story.

All in all, it was more a YA novella than a spy novel, but overall entertaining read.… (meer)

I just chose this book for a challenge and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. This was a free book for me on Kindle.

That Boy follows Jayden James (aka JJ), and Phillip through their years. I loved how the book began with Jj running out on Phillip after he proposed to her. JJ then goes through how she ended up at this point in her life.

JJ and Phillip were childhood friends and best friends. Then their friendship adds another best friend Danny. JJ is a tomboy and good a sports. This story takes place in Nebraska and is really entertaining. This book even made me wish that I had that friendship with a guy that JJ and Phillip have with each other.

There is one sad part in this book and I cried!! I don't want to spoil it but just a forewarning about some tears being shed. I even shed some happy tears!… (meer)

The writing style of this book was actually pretty good if you ask me. It isn't boring.

But the plot was just not unique enough for me and not enough characters for me to exactly be head over heels for it.

Though, I did love the few characters I was given when I was reading this book. The female MC did annoy me in a way though hehe. The character development was really really good.

Adam and Camille here were just so adorable. MY HEART !!! *fangirls* *screams* *rolls on the floor*

Their relationship was just so cute and adorable even though I found it so dramatic and corny at times. I was turned into complete trash by these two. Peace.

The theme and the mood is another thing I really liked since it really made the book feel a tad n=bit more different than to other books in a way that you won't be able to explain.

I think the word "refreshing" is the best way to describe this book.… (meer)
