This is the omnibus edition so I will be doing a small backstory for each book within the trilogy. All the books have elements of mystery, thriller, and horror which is combined within these three books.
Gated:
A little backstory:
Michael and Emily Torrance endure a tragedy in their lives so they want to get away from the life they have in Britain and they move to a small town in America called "Eden".
Eden is a gated community with people that seem to be idyllic and very nice along with always willing to lend a helping hand to their neighbor. As Michael and Emily settle into the their new home getting acquainted with the neighbors things seem just too perfect and serene to the point where they just cannot believe that such a place exists, but as time goes on things are not always what they seem and when things start to go awry the Torrances have to figure out a way to elicit a plan of escape as what they don't realize that something is simmering right below the surface of the perfect community.
Ravenhill Academy:
The second book starts out with Sarah Jane Mears (one of the characters from the first book Gated) as she lands a teaching job in England at a private school (Ravenhill Academy) as she is still trying to pick up the pieces of her life of things that happened in the town of Eden.
When a 13 year old boy arrives as a new student (Joshua) the school becomes his playground of evil as he is able to manipulate everyone around him. Sarah learns that the school has some bad history and she has to figure out what she needs to do to maintain not only her sanity but to survive the evil seeping through the school grounds along with trying to stop "Joshua" as he harbors a dark secret that is tied to the town of Eden.
Election Day:
Campaigning for the greater good might be something that Avery Grant is thinking as she latches onto a candidate that seems too good to be true, but she decides to take a chance on Christian Tolanson as he seems to be able to gather the masses of people to his will. Tolanson is not all what he seems and to get things done he is willing to do anything to becoming elected. Tolanson is tied to the town of Eden as well and when things come to light about him the book goes into overdrive as when loose ends are being tied up sometimes they unravel.
Thoughts for all the books within this omnibus:
There was a drawn out buildup of suspense, tension and horror. There are quite a few characters within all three books so I won't go into detail of each one, but all the characters were believable and seemed to mesh in with the storylines. All three books are tied together so it is best to read them all in order. Giving this whole set four "suspenseful" stars.
