After this, he met and married his wife Abigail Smith and they had five children. Adams helped to write the Declaration of Independence and he traveled around the world to ask for money and soldiers. A few years later, in 1789, Adams was elected the vice president when George Washington was elected the first president of the United States. After eight years, Adams was elected president and was the first president to live in the White House. Once he left office, Adams moved back to his farm and he died on July 4, 1826 which was the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. It was easy to understand and the pictures helped to illustrate what was on the next page. This is a good book to give basic knowledge about John Adams without going into too much detail.… (meer)
