This book sounded like it was tailor-made for me. I edit reports that contain a lot of data and often visuals such as charts or graphs, and we have to explain their relevance to the reader. Late last year we published a particularly large report for which we had to craft a compelling narrative with the data we had. So I thought this book might help me pick up some tips and tricks to make my next such report even better.

The concept of this book is great, and it has good nuggets of wisdom in it, particularly with regard to making sure you have a strong foundation of data and picking the most compelling aha moment, but the writing style was a bit buzzwordy and empty, and I found myself skipping chapters trying to get to the good bits.

I could also just be oversaturated with work at the moment: I’ve been working from home full time and have little social activity because of the pandemic, so there may not be room for this book in my head. For that reason I wouldn't actively discourage anyone from reading this.… (meer)
