What a funny book! Not meant to be, of course, but I did laugh. This was obviously meant to be a serious (albeit easily readable) examination of sexual mores and customs not only throughout history, but throughout the world. Much time is spent on customs of "primitive" or "native" peoples. In fact, the tone is quite patronizing at times. And the author does a lot of tip-toeing around, trying not to actually describe anything resembling consummation of sex. A revealing snapshot of the times. And if his research is legit, some of the practices of the less-westernized societies are really interesting.… (meer)
