This is basically just a collection of info from travel brochures. Kind of useless unless you're actually IN NOLA and actively touring. The number of times the phrase "is said to..." appears is also aggravating to read. Not worth the 15 minutes it took to read it. (Granted, I probably should have read the description more closely and realized that it wasn't actually a book, so that part is all on me.)
Even as an adult, I still enjoy a scary story-especially if it is suppose to be true. These stories did not leave me with chills. They also didn't give me much information. There were no eyewitness accounts, no personal experiences. Just boring information that the author could have phoned in.
Isn't the phrase 'urban legend' and the word 'true' an oxymoron? Or maybe I am the moron for paying even a small price to read this book. I have always found urban legends interesting. What is also interesting is how people can still believe these old and worn-out tales. This book puts a twist on certain urban legends. Parts of these stories are true ( or so says the author). They have been blown way out of proportion. Personally, I don't believe the 'true' part of any of these stories. Oh wait! Did you say it actually happened to your aunt's neighbor's cousin's best friends aunt by marriage? Sorry. In that case, I believe it all.… (meer)
I cannot give a negative rating so I will give no rating at all. I ordered this for my Kindle and was very very very disappointed. There were only a handful of stories, none going into detail, all very very short. Nothing in this 'book' makes me want to go out and visit any of these places. It is not even good reading for a dark and rainy Halloween night. While it had the potential to be a very interesting book, it came nowhere near that mark.
