Review version 2.0 because GOODREADS ATE MY REVIEW...
(this happens more often than you'd think. tsk.)

This had a very distinct middle-grade feel to its writing.
I remember being really exasperated and lots of why in heaven, WHY???.
Some parts were good. But largely it was quite disappointing.
The ending left me dissatisfied, as I recall. Too many loose ends.

I read this book in two days, every time I could for it in. The story is intriguing. The main character, Rem is convoluted and easy to care for.

I’m sure the subject matter might be too violent for some, but it was thought-provoking and more than a little heartbreaking.

Not bad. One for the LGBT genre at work. Lee Fisher is the son of the United States President and goes to an exclusive boarding school called Inverness Prep. It is the not too distant future where robots do cleaning and other menial jobs and instead of phones, people have "pucks" that hover above their heads and act like tablets, projectors and phones all in one. In this world, Lee's mother was involved in helping create Charlotte; one of the first self aware robots. Unfortunately, Charlotte went berserk and killed Lee's mother and ever since, Lee's dad has waged a war on robots and anything that isn't a truly Human Value - such as homosexuality - thus becoming president.
This is awful for Lee as he is gay but can't tell his father.
Into Lee's life comes a new kid to the school Nico who seems to fall for Lee's nerdish charm. But is Nico what he seems, and when the robots that Lee himself built start turning on him and attacking him - who is out to kill him?
I guessed part of the book at the beginning. ( I read too many Sci Fi books!) SPOILER ALERT - Nico is a conscious robot called a B2. But I did not guess who the real bad guy was until about three quarters of the way through. There are lots of Hamlet and Shakespeare references in here as well as awesome cool robots. Its also a nice love story with twists and turns.
