This story is linked to "A Trick of the Senses", but it happens earlier, giving is the story of how Jasper and Samson first meet.

I liked the contrast of Jasper's gray and desperate world when he is alone and has unexplained seizures - versus how his world changes when he meets Samason, a weredog with special abilities. Nothing is solved in this story, but it gives us a glimmer of hope at the end.

The world Jasper and Samson live in sounds interesting and I hope there will be more stories about them.… (meer)

I really liked this story about two lovers who've been cursed so they can only spend one night per year together - the winter solstice night. I'm not going to say much more because that would spoil the effect of the story. The tension and deep emotions were described well and, for an 8-page story, it packed quite a punch.

"A Sense of Trust" is the sequel to "Coming to his Senses" (it also takes place before "A Trick of the Senses"). It tells the story of Jasper and Samson moving in together.

Jasper is learning to manage his life - with Samson's help. He's ready to leave the halfway house to "live in the world". This is hard to do for a psychic like him, who doesn't always know what is real and what is a vision. Fear is his real enemy.

I liked the description of Jasper battling his fear and how Samson helps him. A nice, if slightly different, Valentine's story.

3.5 stars, maybe? Not sure.

I really liked the characters and I learned something new, which is always a good thing. Anah Crow and Dianne Fox are fantastic authors and I really enjoy their work. I definitely want to read more about the characters, although I guess I'm at a wait-and-see about the overall arc of the story.

Denny and Sully are likable characters and it's obvious they love each other. I find it interesting (in a good way) that they recognize that even love wouldn't have saved their relationship. That while the accident was bad, it did allow them to focus and help cement their relationship. Denny recognized that the issues he's dealing with needed to be addressed.

Sully and Denny seemed to be fitting into a D/s relationship, but it doesn't seem forced. It's more of Denny needing some release or grounding and Sully providing that for him. As Denny and Sully explore their relationship, the more this becomes apparent. Although, it doesn't seem as if Sully needs to be in control, he's just willing to do anything to help Denny. The authors do handle the interactions very well.

I'm not terribly familiar with racing, is it a truly homophobic sport? It seemed that both characters were terrified of being found out... just an observation, but it seemed paramount that no one know.

While I'll definitely read the next book in the series, I sincerely hope it's not one of those never-ending series some authors are good for.
