Carl Futia looks at investment crowds using valuation measures and newspaper headlines to judge the position in a cycle. These crowds are plentiful eg. Peak Oil, Goldilocks, Property Flippers, New Internet Economy etc. and they all end the same way. He also looks at downside crowds but still says that its safer to bet on the upside in open free market economies. An unusual and useful book.
