Jack and Trudy were recruited to be student operatives in the Ministry of Suits. One week has passed and another mystery is already in need of solving. Jack and Trudy are on it. First, they must figure out how the fish criminals are able to escape from the aquarium prison. Right away Jack assumes it must have something to do with the old lady he sees walking into the ocean and vanishing. Another mystery is the drilling platform that appears in the middle of the school playing field. A third piece is the bath store run by a young women who looks surprisingly similar to the old women he saw at the aquarium. Is she out to get him? Why else would the bath bomb he bought blow up his bathroom? He knows its all connected and that he must figure it out before Ireland and all of earth's landmasses get sucked into the ocean.

If you read book 1, you are familiar with the author's use of footnotes to explain all the things that you didn't think needed explaining. It's another way for the author to promote the ultra sarcasm that makes these books unique. There are also ministry files scattered throughout the book which have the same effect as the footnotes, but in more detail. I personally don't care for all the sarcasm and misinformation disguised as truth for the purpose of eliciting a good chuckle. Just not for me, but I can see how kids would be totally amused and entertained.
