A definite case of not being able to judge a book by its cover. The cover of Hidden Cities is thoroughly inviting and the purported subject laden with potential. The book itself is a major disappointment. For the most part, the book is the author's tribute to himself as opposed to portrait of the worlds and places that he has allegedly visited. I was hoping for "Into Thin Air" featuring urban explorers instead of mountain climbers. Instead, it was a pantheon to Moses Gates a legend in his own mind. I would recommend a pass.… (meer)
