I believe this book will be of interest to anyone travelling to the Middle East, anyone in a cross- cultural relationship, or to anyone interested in broadening their perspective of different countries, customs and cultures. I read it until the part they got married and started their family life having to learn how to make bread and get water, I then skimmed reading until the end. I admire her curiosity and spirit of adventure as well as her courage and resilience. Although I can appreciate how special it was living in a such a wondrous place and gain an insider's insight into the lives of the local people, I think it was also incredibly hard and I wish she had explored the deeper layers.… (meer)
