From CBCA: "Bev and Kev is a story about not fitting in, perseverance, friendship and finally making peace with yourself, your friends and your place. A perfect picture book with lovely empathy between Bev and Kev."

A delightful story with simple rhythm which centres on a family spending the day together out and about. Strolling to the park they say hello to a neighbour, marvel at the orange bus, wave to a rubbish truck and point to the ducks waddling by.A story that focuses on everyday experiences and surroundings providing lots of opportunity for talk between parent and child. - Speech Pathology of Australia Book of the Year Shortlisted 2019

This book is about the rain that does not seem to be coming. They are anticipating rain, and they even see big, thick, dark clouds, but still no rain. In the end, the rain finally comes.

I really liked how the hot heat and hope of rain really parallels southern Arizona where I live. I can really relate to waiting for a big storm and enduring many painfully hot days. The illustrations have the Aboriginal style, and are vibrant and inviting to look at. I would love to read this to kids during the summer monsoon season.… (meer)
