This is a very interesting account of the privatization of the Russian economy after the fall of communism. As the title indicates, it's not a cheerful story and the writer is not optimistic about the future prospects of free economic activity in Russia. Some stories about the adventures of oligarchs went into a bit too much detail in my opinion, but other than that I really enjoyed this book.
