This story is about being snowed in a house with someone you don't know. It was a very sweet story and reminded me of a hallmark movie. The perfect read for a day when it keeps snowing and snowing.

I received a PDF.file ARC [Advanced Reader’s Copy] of this book from the author and the following is my honest opinion.

Whether it’s in real life or in the fictional romances we love to read, one thing is certain; the best times for romance to bloom is either Valentine’s Day [#1] or the Christmas holiday season [#2].

In this story you’ve got two diametrically opposed individuals. On one side you’ve got Arnie, a lonely war veteran who has lost a wife and asks nothing more than to be just left alone with his loneliness so he can tend to his farmland. Yet, he knows he needs someone to fill the void in his life, so he can become whole again.

On the other side, you’ve got Tabitha, an aggressive young woman who’s determined not to let anything, even men, get in her way in order to reach the apex of the corporate ladder. Yet, once she’s nailed another promotion, moving up another rung of that ladder, she’s got time to tend to family matters, specifically in persuading her obstinate father to undergo the heart surgery he desperately needs. But fate has other plans for her, by making sure Tabitha can’t get to her family when she wants to.

Call it fate, call it Kismet, it doesn’t matter it had been this which caused her car to plow right into a huge snowbank during a snow storm on her way to see her father and family for the Christmas holiday. Luckily, she sees a farmhouse, and drags her cold, wet body through the snow to reach it and asks for shelter until the storm passes. The guy who opens the door, Arnie, seeing Tabitha and the condition she was in, invites her in.

The snow turned into a raging blizzard, leaving these two individuals alone which each other. But, how long can two people go without really talking to each other?

As Tabitha and Arnie start to talk to each other, each revealing something about themselves. Arnie and the past he’d sooner not remember; and Tabitha with her desires for the future. And with the snow showing no signs of stopping and with Christmas fast approaching they opened about other things, culminating with them becoming more responsive and receptive to each other’s feelings. But, will this be enough for Arnie to allow himself to allow someone else into his life? Will this be enough for Tabitha to scrap her lifelong desire have what she wants for her life and career? Only the future knows in this inspirational, heartwarming story which had me, and will have its readers, pulling at the heartstrings. The answer will be known only after the blizzard stops, and the snow begins at last to melt, as these two lovers take a good, hard look at what each truly desires to have for the rest of their lives.

For being the truly inspirational Christmas romance story, it is, I’m happy to give it the 5 STARS it has gotten from me.

Beyond the Rapture by Jennette Green was a very thought provoking book which I enjoyed tremendously. It starts out in the future with Isola scared and trying to find a place to hide. As she tries to find what is left of Kay's house to see if she can find the answers to what is going on. Kay had known the truth all along, before she disappeared with all of the others, her life had proven it. She finds her diary and bible.

The story goes back and forth between now (in the reading of the diary) and the future (beyond the rapture). The author uses a lot of bible scripture in this book which is about the end times. It is not a preachy type book but does relay a great story of love, gangs, persecution, etc. I couldn't put this down as I anxiously turned the pages to see what each day would bring.

I highly recommend this book.

I received a free copy of this book from Net Gallery in exchange for my honest review rather it be good or bad. Thank you

...dearest enemy!

715 AD Galwyddel, a Scottish kingdom far to the west of Northumbria.
Caught on the horns of a dilemma, Elwytha has a choice to make, honour or vengeance.
When Elwytha agreed to sue for a false peace with the waring neighbouring kingdom, little did she know that her plans would be thwarted time and time again. Elwytha was ordered by her brother, now King, to kill The Commander, overseer of their enemy's army, revenge for murdering their older brother, King Thor, so foully. Her brother Richard, now King, plans to use Elwytha as the bait to trap their enemy and finally win the war. Elwytha searches for the truth.
But truth was a will-o-the-wisp, eluding the outstretched hands of the seekers at every turn.
Even though the outcome is foreseeable, I found the characters and the storyline engaging. The Prince, portrayed as a layabout with eyes that saw more than one guessed at. The Commander a man misjudged by his appearance, and the Elwytha, the warrior princess, haughty yet vulnerable, and fighting the truth before her eyes. Truth which is hidden in her heart.
Her brother King Richard plays a deep game. I was able to make an informed guess at the 'truth' well before the some of the characters arrived there. I think this increased the tension of the novel, despite that from the sidelines, I was encouraging various characters in all sorts of directions.
A tad predictable yet a pleasing read that I found hard to put down.
