Cry of the Benu Bird: An Egyptian Creation Story door C. Shana Greger
An Egyptian myth that tells of the creation of the world with the use of men and gods on earth. The illustrations are vibrant and I felt they depict Egyptian art. I personally did not care for this book as it was hard for me to keep up with only because they are a lot of details. The author discussed how this story has combines three stories to create this and how provides the pronunciation of the names in the story.

This would be a great piece of literature to use for cultural diversity and Egyptian mythology.… (meer)

The Fifth and Final Sun: An Ancient Aztec Myth of… door C. Shana Greger
Wonderfully illustrated and textually enthralling, C. Shaha Greger's retelling of the Aztec origin story of the Sun and Moon is a cultural treat. Having no prior knowledge to this origin story, I found the ancient explanation of why the Sun and Moon shine in the sky very spiritual and insightful. Besides the awesome story, the Mesoamerican art style is brightly colored and boldly active, which creates a flowing illustrative journey.

The Fifth and Final Sun: An Ancient Aztec Myth of… door C. Shana Greger
This is a story on how the earth was created. Two different types of sun battled for power for many years, and at the end, various suns sacrificed themselves to create the moon and sun. It is interesting how this myth describes the creation of the world. It has similarities with Christian fables....like Adam and Eve. I might use this book if I was doing a lesson on Aztec culture. I would not use it just on creation because it could conflict with some student's point of view.

An Egyptian creation story, with gorgeous illustrations. My son and I both enjoyed this book, although I prefer the writing in the “Eyptian Myths” book that we’re currently reading. This one, in spite of being fairly simple, was a bit difficult for me to follow.
