Marcus is one of the Holland brothers. Of the four, there are three gay brothers (what are the chances?) and Marcus who is the odd one out. That is until he meets Brian, his mate. Marcus is not a happy camper. Quote from book..."Why couldn't this man belong to one of his gay brothers? Hell, why couldn't this man be a woman?" But pack law is pack law and no wolf questions it ...at least not out loud. What follows is a cute story as Marcus turns away from Brian and then needs to try to win him back. Throw in a bit of drama with a bitchy ex-girlfriend and a nice accepting family and it turns into a fun, light read with a happy ending!… (meer)

Determination can be a key factor in many things, one of them the achievement of recovering from a traumatic event. And Jason has definitely been traumatized, enough to be running into the arms of his best friend, hoping the man can help him. Not even meeting his mate Alex, who is the alpha of Brian’s new pack, can bring Jason out of his shell. At least not initially.

Jason is not normally this scared of everything and everyone, and he hates it. But his body’s reaction to what has happened is hard to suppress, and the fact Brian lives with four huge men, the Holland brothers, does not help in the least. Jason happily accepts the offer of staying with the men’s parents at first, and his road to recovery is slow, but his determination to make it helps a lot. The bastard who did this to him cannot be allowed to win!

Alex is overjoyed when he finally meets his mate, and can hardly control the need to take him into his arms. But he has no choice. Staying away is the hardest thing he has ever done, but it shows what a great guy he is. With loads of patience and reassuring Jason over and over, he makes slow inroads into Jason’s resistance, and I loved how thoughtful he was. Not the easiest thing to do for a powerful alpha, but he pulls it off. Kudos to him!

If you like stories about traumatized men who have to find a way to recover and reclaim their lives as their own, if you enjoy reading about strong alphas who manage to control their instincts and show their vulnerable side to the man they love, and if you’re looking for a read that is as heartbreaking as it is hot, then you will probably like this novella.

Let me warn you: if you thought book three was tough on your emotions, you are in for an even more emotional ride with this fourth volume. Based on the blurb, as well as the hints about Patrick in previous books, I did not expect an easy ride by any means. I mean, to be denied by his mate, the one man who is supposed to love him unconditionally, for ten years is just cruel, right? Well, let me tell you, once it becomes obvious why Jake is doing what he is doing, I felt for him as well. What a mess! And yet, these two men prove to be strong, honorable, and manage to be there for each other when it counts. A perfectly heartwrenching romance!

Patrick is very young, only sixteen, when he realizes his oldest brother Alex’s best friend and the man he has had sort of a crush on for years, is his mate. They share one amazing kiss before deciding to delay claiming each other until Patrick is done with high school and Jake has his degree. But that is when disaster strikes, and Jake suddenly rejects Patrick. Since they cannot totally avoid seeing each other, especially once Alex becomes pack alpha and makes Jake his beta, the heartbreak is repeated over and over again. Patrick is still attracted to Jake even after ten years of being rebuffed and hurt, and he cannot get close to another man even though he tries his best, because his wolf rebels and he ends up vomiting every time. And then Alex sends the two of them on a weeklong trip together – hell on Earth, right?

Jake is in an awful situation. He is elated that he has found his mate, and falls in love with Patrick over the next few years, but he knows that any sign of approaching him will risk Patrick’s life. Jake’s father is slowly losing touch with reality and, since he wants grandpups, is determined to make Jake “ungay” and get him to marry a girl. It takes Jake a long time to realize how wrong his father is, and to work up the courage to stand up to the idiot. Even though he has given up all hope that Patrick can ever forgive him, when the beta of the pack they go to visit on their weeklong trip hits in Patrick, Jake sees red. Enough is enough. But when he finally mans up, all hell breaks lose for both of them…

If you like stories about men who have had to deny the one they love for longer than either of them thinks is possible, if you enjoy reading about a young man who comes into his own despite being hurt over and over again by the man he has fallen for, and if you’re looking for an emotional romance full of pain, longing, some nail-biting tension, and an emotionally charged happy ending, then you will probably like this novel.

The Atherton pack, as small as it is, located in a remote place in Australia, is quickly becoming one of my favorite packs. Liam, the beta, and Declan, a fugitive from another pack’s cruel alpha, have mated in book one, and this time it is Declan’s younger brother, Tommy, who needs to figure out how to relate to his mate, Ben, who is Atherton’s alpha as well as the Pennaeth Alpha of all of Australia. With Tommy almost beaten to death by his old alpha, the same one Declan ran from, Ben needs to be patient and give Tommy time to recover. Not an easy feat, but his ability to wait and support Tommy in is recovery made me admire Ben all the more. This is unquestionably a story about destined mates, but they both go about it with sensitivity and logic before they allow the underlying passion to bloom. And once it does? Oh boy!

Tommy has not had it easy. Almost beaten to death, now in a strange place, he is confronted with a powerful mate. And even though Tommy knows this man is different, both his instincts and his brother Declan tell him so, it takes a while for him to heal and to come out of his shell. Once he decides enough is enough, and refuses to live in fear any longer, he manages to take his fate into his own hands. Mostly. The one thing he had not counted on was the effects of being claimed by Ben during the new moon…

Ben is a busy man, but as soon as he finds his mate, and knows Tommy needs his help and support, he spends as much time as possible at the man’s side. He even moves into Declan’s house, where Tommy is staying for the time being. Taking care of Tommy after his almost nightly nightmares is all he can do in the beginning, but as Tommy gains self-confidence, that turns into more. And when the consequences of mating during the new moon become undeniable Ben turns into an even more considerate mate.

If you like werewolves who are able and willing to show their softer side, even if only around their mates, if two men who know they are destined for each other still need to take the time to know each other before they jump into bed, and if you’re looking for a cute, sweet read with many “hot moments”, then you will probably like this novella.
