There are some points made about social media, privacy, and politics but they get lost in a muddle of relationship drama and frequent sex scenes. In the end, I'm just not sure what the point of the book is and don't really care.

adult graphic fiction (swinging couple in modern polarized political climate have fun with A.I. sex doll)

I thought this book was about videogamers from the cover graphic and was very surprised (!)--guess I could have read the description--but it was an entertaining enough story if you can get past all the toxic political hate (it's been a rough few years and I can't take it lightly just yet) and don't mind all the sex stuff..

A story about an older man living in the desert and coming to terms with his grief. Tim Ginger the protagonist was once a test pilot and wrote a book about his experiences. He comes out of reclusiveness to do some publicity for his books and as the world crowds in on him he is forced to reckon with his past. I liked the clean illustration style and the use of colour to show sunsets and light effects. A peaceful and powerful work.

Six top creators of weird stories were asked to come up with tales on the theme of technology and this is the result. 'Uploading' by Box Brown has simple art and is a far future slice of life about a man waiting to be uploaded to a central computer. Meanwhile, he plays games. 'Here I Am' by Shaun Tan is a charming story of a child growing up with monsters. Then someone comes to rescue her. I loved the old-fashioned, elaborate art and the ending. 'Contours' by Tillie Walden is about a girl addicted to her phone. Then all technology worldwide stops. Panic! 'Bloody Kids' by Krent Able is also about kids addicted to devices but takes a dark turn. I'm afraid I didn't understand the other two stories but all anthologies are a mixed bag. If you're looking for something a bit different, this is it.… (meer)
