A story of a war correspondent, Vern Haugland, who was forced to bail out of B-25 over New Guinea in 1942, during WWII. The author chronicles his 42 days of wandering the jungle of New Guinea, facing near starvation, and overcoming numerous physical and mental obstacles. Haugland was awarded the Silver Star for his accomplishment.

The book is a very quick read and hard to put down. It's among other things, as story of faith, as well as perseverance.
