I received this e-arc book via Member giveaway group for an honest review. Thank you!

Starting to review the book I have to say the book cover is rather featureless and too distant- plain for describing the story which is full of suspense and I, as a reader could not guess what the next chapter will be about. So, in my opinion, this cover is very misleading and needs brighter - vivid cover.

The story is about the girl who has born being different and realizing shes an outcast within the society shes living, beside realising her parent doesn't want to have her the same very reason. From the very beginning she learns that when she's angry and shouts - it might dangerously involve other people destiny. As her parents make it clear, they don't want her and she's sent to live with her grandmother. Life goes on and Maria is about to find that her "gift" runs in the family and her grandmother used to have one as well, but she chose to block it out. How difficult it wouldn't be, there appears unpredictable situations that leads Maria to decide to leave the "nest" and run away. From there on, shes growing up, socialising and finding her people around her.

The book is full of action, reading from cover to cover, and kept me awake till 5am when I was finished reading.

I give the book four stars as in my opinion, the story did not explain the fact how her imaginary friend in that theory that if it was the evil character - did not harm her all her life and kept her safe. In one of the episodes I am about to learn the fact its Arrow, as her friend recognises the soul around her - but then - this is never actually explained to Maria, nobody stresses it out. If it is really meant to be the evil one - how does it come that he never hurt her and protected her from anything in all the other locations she has lived, and become violent in Asheville? Why the character was against her move to Asheville if that's the place where his power enlarge? How come that the only safe place was to be in Cherokee, not all the other places she lived before. It felt more as maybe Emma's husband is the one who's keeping the spirit in the house and sho is about to kill her and friend, having nothing common with the monster imaginary friend.

I received a copy of Angels and Arrows through Library Thing for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. I wish I could meet the author because I want to know so much more about her experiences. I was completely intrigued from page one. This is a fast paced and very interesting book, made better because we know it is based on true facts. I will admit there were times when I wanted to scream at Maria, “pay attention” or “ don’t blow that off like it is nothing”. But talk about creepy and interesting all at once.

This story takes you through several years of Maria’s life and then adds her new friend Allie. They go forth on a journey that would make most people curl up in a ball and just give up. But these two women are strong and have a will to live a happy life to its fullest.
There are twists and turns, there is joy and sadness! At times it was frustrating and I just wanted to jump in and help them. But in the end good always wins over evil…doesn’t it?

Angels & Arrows was a different type of paranormal romance. Maria has to overcome many challenges in her life and learn to accept herself and learn to trust others. There is a bit of horror, a lot of romance , some sadness and some joy in this story. It will make you think about your own faith and beliefs . Truly an enjoyable read. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys Angels and paranormal romance.

First off let me say paranormal romance usually is not my thing. Now that being said I really enjoyed [Reyna Hawk's] [Angels & Arrows] because it was not a typical paranormal romance. Yes that was part of it but there was cultural history and excitement as well. None of the "Oh woe is me my vampire boyfriend left me I am going to curl up and die." Maria is a fighter. A bit of a pessimist but really a fighter. It takes a bit for her to learn to trust and have faith but when she does evil spirits better watch out.… (meer)
