Ghost Girl, a romance novella, by Steve Hazlett.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review.
I have to admit, it was the title that made me want to read the book right away. Upon reading the first few pages, I was swept up into the story as the author skillfully grabbed me and immediately painted a vivid picture of the setting in my mind. He made a wise choice with the novella format, as it is the exact right fit for his story. However, I was a little disappointed, only because I knew what was going to happen and the ending was no surprise for me. Perhaps, I am a pessimist and automatically decided the ending, or I knew it because I had seen it done before, several times. I actually have encountered the book’s scenario through acquaintances in my own life, and once the exact same situation with the genders reversed. I hope the writer takes more chances and gives us something truly unique with his next piece.… (meer)

I really liked this little book. I just wish it had been longer so I could have known what happened . it was a very good story.

Both achingly sensual and hauntingly melancholy, Ghost Girl, by author Stephen Hazlett, is a story to savor. The winsome Maddy... is she or is she not pursuing Joe? Could Joe's doubts alone undermine all that is possible in this May-December romance?

This is a truly gorgeous story, and I loved being a part of the world the author created. NO, things may never quite work out like the romantically hopeful reader wishes, but isn't that what makes for a gripping tale? I loved the fragile yet durable Joe from the get-go, as well as the alluring girl he continues to fall for, despite all of the warning signals going off around him. Well-written, real characters, and a wonderfully delicate scenario.

A thank you to librarything, from which I received this review copy. Totally enjoyable!!

A truly sad story that leaves one wishing they could change the ending. However, like so many things in life, this can't be changed just because it brings up uncomfortable feelings. This is a novella size diamond in a world of novels.
