This book provides a short summary of the many different types of trains. It tells when the styles were created and about the different fuels that they use. There are beautiful, color pictures on each page. History teachers can use this book to have students create a timeline of when each train was created. They can also locate the different countries where the trains are located. An art teacher can have students create a model of one of the trains. Science teachers can use the book to introduce the different types of fuel and how they work. Math teachers can use the book to have students create word problems about how long it will take a train to arrive at a certain destination. English teachers can have students use the glossary in the back and have students create sentences with the listed words. This book is a survey book written in short, factual sentences. Each page has many pictures, and there is even a fold out section.This book also contains a table of contents with pictures, a glossary, and an index.
