James Henke (1955–2019)

I LOVED this book in high school. I used to have a goal then to own everything on the "Psychedelic 100" posted at the end of the book, and after perusing through this again recently, I think I might have to rekindle this goal.

Just dorked out and was able to find about 70 of the 100 tracks on Spotify! Psych playlist, you are all mine. :)

Handy for looking up things but the reviews of the albums and singers are way too opinionated. It seems like everyone I like is dissed in the reviews. I would like more facts, less subjectivity.

Had previously played with the reproductions in the book but never read it. Nothing new in the text that you probably didn't already know from a basic biography or from reading another book about John or The Beatles.

Despite not having uncovered any new facts about John or Yoko, the book is well written and put together and the inserted reproductions make a nice touch, adding to the text very nicely.

Stunning photo tour of the psychedelic era and wonderful book for display. Highly recommended.
Purchased at the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
