Read as part of research for my MS and intimacy book.
Good, easy to read, simple book with many useful suggestions and helpful hints. Well worth a look over if you are missing that little something in your life...
Note: this book is "vanilla" as my sex education friend would say. Not much on the kinky side though some more unusual practices are given mention.

Dr. Debby Herbenick’s utilization of research, science, and personal experience meld perfectly together in her latest book, Sex Made Easy. She promises to answer our “awkward questions” for “better, smarter, amazing sex” and doesn’t disappoint.

It is immediately clear that the purpose of this book is to stress that education is the key to better sex. Unlike so many sex advice books that read like articles from Cosmo and promise “secrets” to mind blowing orgasms, Herbenick uses her experience as an educator and researcher to inform and entertain her readers. My favorite thing about this book is the way each chapter is constructed: a basic rundown of the topic—areas covered include anatomy, sexual health, orgasms, ejaculation, partner sex, sex toys, fantasies, and how to balance sex and life—followed by sexual situations and real-world advice on how to handle them. According to her blog, mysexprofessor.com, these situations were based off of the most common questions Herbenick has been asked over the years. There’s even a little quiz at the end of each chapter just to make sure you were paying attention to what you read!

As a sex researcher at the Kinsey Institute, it is a given that Herbenick would include much scientific evidence in this book. The way this information is presented is entertaining and allows the reader to trust that Herbenick really does know what she’s talking about (the copious citations at the end of the book don’t hurt either). Though much of the content is presented in a scientific manner, she also provides practical day-to-day advice, like not to ejaculate into “good” towels to preserve their softness. These dashes of humor make the book an even more enjoyable read.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a really great overview of practical sex information. Whether someone is looking to have better sex or just wants to expand upon what they already know, this book would prove to be very helpful.

Every single women and girl should read this book – I am not exaggerating, I think this book has information and to the point advice on how to take care of the part of us that school or even your mother doesn’t know about.

You need to know how it will affect your ‘lady parts’ if you shave off all hair, or if you clean up with perfumed wipes before a visit to the obgyn. The book talks about what’s what, what happens, when and how to honor the feminine part of us.

Read My Lips is definitely a must read book to all women, not that men wouldn’t get information off of it but it’s for girls, let’s face it. The book is a singing praise to all things ‘vajayjay’, the coloring, the trimming, the washing, vattooing, vafacial, vajazzling and why not to douche, and truthfully it goes bit over board with the ‘lady bits’ craft projects, because as much as I now respect my ‘sassy’ (thanks to this book) I’m not gonna make larger than life copy, or do a theme party around it. The thought makes me smile, but no thank you.

One of the short chapters I found very interesting was MEN TALK MUFFS, yes all the title are quite witty and funny, in which men talk about what they like about ‘kittens’ varying from short sentiments:

“Moisture, warmth.”-Andres, 31, Spain

…to a longer more detailed love letters to ‘muffins’:

“They look like a flower. Like an orchid. I like them best when they have some exterior vulva. Like after a woman has had a child, they are sexier looking. I like them shaved so that nothing covers the view of them. I like the scent and the taste. I love it when (sensored for LibraryThing).” -Tom, 45, New York

Wither you have a love or hate relationship or indifference to your ‘pussy cat’ you wanna read this book because there are thing you aren’t aware of with you are middle class of highly educated – and trust me you want to know what goes on ‘down there’ not just for health but also for pleasure! Read My Lips will make you appreciate your vulva ( yes that’s what it’s called scientifically even though your lady parts include a lot more variedly named parts, like the vagina ), the information is told in a fun and sassy way making you feel proud to be a woman! With just two words, informative & empowering!

Take a look at these chapter titles to see just how many topics get discussed:

INTRODUCTION
CHAPTER 1: Meet the Vulva
CHAPTER 2: A Healthy, Happy Vulva: Taking Care Down There
CHAPTER 3: Vulvalicious: Vulvas and Vaginas in Bed
CHAPTER 4: How Do I Look? How We Come to Think & Feel the Way We Do about Our Vulvas
CHAPTER 5: Spraying, Dyeing, and Douching . . . Oh My!
CHAPTER 6: The Hair Down There
CHAPTER 7: Evulvalution: Vulva Culture

And there are tons of small chapters within chapters, trust me, reading this will not get booring!
