A collection of essays and interviews from playwrights about the play that had the most influence on them. Most of the playwrights were unable to name just one, and some of them gave more of a history of their play-going experience as a child than discussed the impact of a particular play. Interesting to see how some great playwrights got to be where they are.

pretty cool group of essays and interviews where playwrights talk about the play that inspired them to be a writer - different writers took this differently, but many of the stories are fantastic, especially Diana Son's story of seeing Diane Venora as Hamlet, and Sarah Ruhl's essay on community theater.
