The plotting on this was a little uneven, the end dragged on after the couple had figured their stuff out. Still, a solid enemies-to-lovers story with some generational saga thrown in. It felt a little like Dynasty, in a good way!

An empowering story that mixes romance and politics. Ms. Hodges writes female characters that have a sensuous aura but are also role models in other areas. Chante is a woman who will not be anyone's arm candy. She loves with her entire being but she will not be made a fool of. She knows what she wants and goes after it wholeheartedly. Chante and Zach are mirror images of each other personality wise. I received an ARC of I Heard a Rumor in exchange for an honest review.
Exotic locations lead to heated romances. An enjoyable chance to experience love through the eyes of two couples. Whether a fan of love reunited or giving the hearts desire a chance to explore, this book gives fans of sultry romance and dramatic storytelling the chance to experience both. My favorite story was Make you Mine Again by Cheris Hodges because love is always better with a little life experience.

They barely developed as people and couldn't exchange enough sentences at one time to have a mature adult conversation, let alone a fair fight.
Also, I wasn't really sold on the whole "I'm too busy with my starlet career to give in to my overwhelming desire for this man." Nor was I buying this whole innocence thing on her end. Maybe I was just confused at how she'd had boyfriends before and never had desire for them. I can believe someone held out for marriage or the right relationship before sex. That's not my issue. What is tough for me to believe is that a grown woman with this much sexual energy in her had never WANTED someone (not giving in to wants is a legit thing to do).
Anyway, the sex was hot. That's not easy to write so serious points for that. Unfortunately, for me that was all this book had. I know erotic literature authors can do better.… (meer)
