*Spoiler alert - if you've not read this book and you want to, there are some spoilers in the following review.*

I happened to see this book on the table while I was having my breakfast and next thing I knew, I was reading it. It’s typical chick lit so it’s very easy reading and only took me 3 days to complete. I’m not entirely sure why I bothered finishing it because I didn’t really enjoy it all that much.

The start of the book is really annoying. All of the female characters that are introduced at the start - Evie, her sister Lexy and flatmate Lulu (seriously, Lulu? who uses that as a character name?) are irritating beyond belief. I get that they were supposed to be stereotypes taken to extremes, presumably for comedy purposes, but they were just ridiculous. At least, I hope they were supposed to be extremes, I can’t see that anyone could take them for anything remotely like a decent character - even for chick lit.

Evie blags a job as a tour guide which she has no knowledge or experience for, and only manages to get it because the interviewer is seriously hungover. Then she turns up for her first day, having left her handbag at home which happens to contain everything she needs for work. Then, she is helped every step of the way but the stereotypically hunky coach driver, who even hides her in the coach toilet so that she can get through French customs and immigration as she doesn’t have her passport, rather than complaining to the tour company that she’s less than useless. Of course, if he did that, he wouldn’t be able to shag her which he does less than 24 hours after meeting her.

It’s a very typical plotline: girl meets boy, boy shags girl mightily, girl falls for boy heavily, boy cheats on girl with ex-girlfriend, girl goes off and has better life without boy, boy is very very very sorry and tries to win girl back, boy shags girl mightily, the end. And now I've given you a summery of the entire book, you have no need to read it and can do something much more interesting instead, such as organise your sock drawer.
