This is a children’s picture book written by Anita Horrocks. It was published in 2010 by Orca Books. Silas has seven grandparents and it is very hard to keep up with them all. When his parents are going on vacation, all of silas’ grandparents invite him to stay with them. The problem is Silas is only one person and he cannot stay with everybody, so he invites them to all come and stay at his house. I really liked the illustrations in this book. They portrayed all the different things Silas would do with his grandparents.The colors and style is beautiful and goes extremely well with the text in the story. You could see the love they all had for each other and sometimes when Silas was overwhelmed, you could clearly see it on his face. I also liked that the characters all looked different and it makes you think how Silas have seven grandparents and where they are all from. The main topic in this book is about family.… (meer)

This is cute. The kid takes good care of his seven grandparents and has a good head on his shoulders.

A funny trip for anyone who has grown up with strict religious and cultural expectations and has had the gall to ask questions. Especially if you have lived with the "upgemixed" Mennonites in Canada. A great YA companion to "A Complicated Kindness"
