Thanks a LOT, Emily Post! is a cute picture children's book by Jennifer LaRue Huget. The illustrations in the book are cute and funny and do a good job showing how the characters are feeling. This book is about a mom who bring the "Emily Post Etiquette" book into her house and her children become sick of the book. The children come up with a plan to get their mother to remove the book from the house and the plan works. I'm having a hard time being able to show how I would use this as a writing or mentor tool to my students.… (meer)

While I was reading this book, I could not help but laugh. This book brought back many memories from when I was young, getting yelled at by my parents to clean my room and that "Just throwing them in the closet does not mean it is clean!!". I also found the illustrations very intriguing. It is almost as if the randomness and messy lines showcased how messy the room was. This would make a wonderful writing model, as it is a list and uses different sentence structures. I love this book!

This book is really playful and goofy, but it is something that will surely grab children's attention. There is some insanely relatable things for kids to resinate with. It is can work as a sort of motivation for kids to actually way to cleans their room. Books like this make boring activities like cleaning your room exciting.

Hilarious illustrations accompany this tale, which while fun and funny, left me scratching my head about its message for children. The book seems to miss Emily Post's point that etiquette is not about following rules for rules' sake, but about treating people with "respect, honesty, kindness and consideration," points which are made in the author's note. Instead, the book focuses on how the children resent rules and want to go back to their bad behavior. It is only through turning Emily Post's rules against the mother that the children may go back to doing what they like, which has a questionable message about family and limits.… (meer)
