I _love_ this one. Darian's great - both himself as a person and his power and how he deals with (insofar as those can be separated). And Abby is able to match him all across the board - well, not in climbing, admittedly. The Downs Syndrome subtext is interesting, too. I didn't recognize 'Hook' when he showed up - it was a little annoying when he was revealed, since I already had an opinion about him. But not terrible. And Darian's discoveries about himself and his family - though you know they have to be that way, he manages to pull you along to feel his shock when he discovers he's adopted. I really like this story, especially the way it begins to link all the rest together.… (meer)
