American Sports Legends: Your Turn to Score by D.A. Jennings is a sports trivia book using poetry to challenge sports fans.
Certainly an unique construct, by writing a piece of poetry that not only asks which athlete the poem is about, but daring the reader to also identify the athlete's sport, and the event, including the date and geographic location, that each poem refers too. By giving sixty-eight of these poems, it can really create a thorough contest between sports enthusiasts. I found that I could name most people, most of their sports, some of the events and where they were, but for me by far the hardest one to answers was the exact dates. If had to score myself, I was able to name all five parts (Sport, Athlete, Event, Date, Place) in only about fifteen of the sixty-eight poems.
A fun and informative trivia book that I would recommend to someone who wants to see how much of a sports fan they really are.
