There is much to recommend this book. The photos of the trucks are of wonderful quality and have plenty of labels and easy to understand explanations of how the big machines are used. Both parents and toddlers will learn something new. The bright colors and varying fonts of the text are sure to keep the interest of pre-readers, as will the onomatopoeic sound words that so perfectly engender construction.

For me though the narrative was just missing something. The rhyming text, while always clever, seems at times to be a bit contrived, with words that fit the theme but are beyond the understanding of most toddlers and in some cases, early readers. It isn't much of a story, but rather just a lengthy description of what goes on at a construction site. Beyond the graphics, in my opinion, much of it will be lost on toddlers, though it could be enjoyable for slightly older children… (meer)

Bonnie Rickner Jensen does it again with this sweet poetic board book for the little ones. It is not your normal short board book, but yet not too long that your child will not be captivated by the illustrations and the poems that tell the sweet little story of what this little girl knows about. Your child will be delighted to read this book, as will you.

This is an extremely adorable board book with an awesome message! It teaches that there are many things we can't see or hear, but that doesn't make them any less real.

The illustrator, Lucy Fleming, is one of the best illustrators I've ever seen for children's books. The pictures were so cute, detailed, and whimsical! I found myself flipping through the book to see them multiple times.

God, I Know You're There is a book I totally recommend. Not only is it a great way to teach about God, but it's art and cute rhymes can be enjoyed by the parents, too.
