This series is turning into something special. Each story is self contained but builds on the others. The cousins are as close as sisters & each boyfriend/fiancée is absorbed in as a full member. No in-laws in this family. The interactions between the characters are full of emotion, wit, humor & affection. The love of family is interspersed in every line & conversation.

Hyacinth (Cindy) is a veterinarian for the town. She’s been able to treat almost everything but sees the need for an animal rehabilitation facility. Her first interaction with Alan leads to a misconception. She starts out thinking he’s a criminal but soon realizes her error. As they spend time together she begins to want more.

Alan came to Hart Land for seclusion to finish his latest murder mystery. He was having trouble with writers block. He had to tell Cindy his secret after she caught him in two compromising scenes. Once he met Cindy & started interacting with her family & the town, the story ideas come faster than he can write them down.
