Gretchen Finch works for Lukas Smith. They are researching the Night Demon in the middle of a jungle. Though she doesn’t know it, Lukas is a Night Walker and their investigation into the ancient glyphs is drawing them closer to his fate and mass destruction across the earth.

Dark and twisted, this vampire variant story has a lot of death at its core as the large cast tries to find and defeat the demon. The demon is able to convince hundreds that their lives are not worth living as the victims find a way to kill themselves. It’s up to Gretchen and Lukas to figure out how to stop the madness and save the destruction of mankind.

Mass occult impact of the demon made me back step away from the storyline. There is a lot of history of the ancient rituals in the story. Gretchen is smart and loyal and pretty much saves the day. While this is a romance, that aspect is more perfunctory than enticing.

One night when Becca Jones, the office manager of Wild Sedona Tours shows up at his house, Gage finally sees her as more than a babysitter when he finds out she’s his mate. Now they just have to figure out how this new threat from her uncle and what is means to the pack and his twin boys.

Threats and twists and connections in the next action packed threat to the Sedona werewolf pack. Becca worked for the Alpha before he became a werewolf, yet it is her uncle, a General being forced to retire, and telling her to get away from Sedona and her boss, that has everyone worried.
While under threat, Becca and Gage become close, giving Gage hope for the first time in years. Love on the run.
This book ties a bit of the past together with the current situation and almost seems a wrap up, but there are clearly several more books and unanswered questions and twists to come.
The children are adorable of course. I loved that Serenity shows up as well using her psychic abilities.

Serenity Harlow was rescued by her sister Madison and the Sedona Pack where she was being held in an experimental facility. Serenity is in a coma-like state and being cared for by various pack members. Ryker sits with Serenity during the day so he can work his regular job at the bar in the evenings. He found out that Serenity is his mate when they first saved her and he hopes that talking or reading to her will help. Serenity feels his sadness and uses her psychic abilities to start mentally talking to Ryker. As they build trust between them, Serenity feels safe enough to start moving and engaging with the rest of the pack. The pack must still protect her as enemies are always close and threatening.

Ryker takes to communicating mentally with Serenity quickly and easily, making it comfortable for her to transition to active. The threat to the pack is real but most importantly now, Serenity is no longer alone. Her sister, her new mate, the cute toddlers and the rest of the pack circle to protect and defeat the enemy. At least for today.
Fast moving adventure, fated mates steamy romance, and a psychic ability that will give the whole pack an advantage.
An excellent continuation of the series. I look forward to reading more soon.… (meer)

While on a veterinary call, Cole Vega meets Madison Williams and realizes that she is his mate. As a werewolf, he never expected to find a mate. The fact that she’s human and that her brother was bitten and is a jaguar shifter, a fact she doesn’t know, means she’s off limits. Madison thinks she’s hearing a voice cry out for help when she’s jogging on the ranch. Cole knows that Madison’s life could be in danger from her boss and he is determined to prevent her from being hurt.

Action packed as Madison is plunged into changes she didn’t expect by moving to Sedona to be closer to her brother. His wife is hugely pregnant, the local vet is irresistible and she’s hearing voices. Unpacked boxes will probably stay that way as the romance gets steamy and old memories are unveiled.
Keeping the secret with toddlers around is a problem. Hahaha. 😂… (meer)
