Richard Killeen

An odd little book. It ends up being a very deep Wikipedia article-length overview of, well, the Irish Revolution, generally written in a tone worthy of a Wiki article . As an American, I had no real knowledge of the Irish Revolution other than a few movies (Michael Collins, the Wind that Shakes the Barley). However, Killeen also gives imself some room to have more discussion and veiled opinion on some of the personalities of the people involved, and slips in fun phrases like "an arse to a shirt". I learned a little bit more than I would have from reading a Wikipedia article covering the subject, and had more fun doing it. So, I'd recommend it.… (meer)
