Abigail is an early suffragette. I enjoyed reading this book, but had a hard time with her constantly leaving her family in order to work on women’s rights. I understood her passion, but her children should be first.

My Review of One More River To Cross by Jane Kirkpatrick: I promise I tried to read this book . . . Truly, I did, but I am a girl, eh, woman that believes that some women overreact with feminism, men should automatically be put in three categories; stupid/weak/needy, overbearing/controlling, or wanting an inappropriate relationship. Since this book has shown a lack of respect for the men, bitter woman that "was what women did" talking about taking care of a family, and I tried flipping through the book and landed on a page where a guy was leaving his wife to travel another way because he needed to take care of his guns. GUNS! How ridiculous can a book get? It's almost as if this was making a joke of the men, women, and everyone. I didn't finish this book and can't recommend it.

If there isn't cheating in a book there is disrespect. Especially in Christian fiction lately.

Disclaimer: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

This book was interesting. I like how Jane Kirkpatrick takes moments in history and crafts a story from them. It's a somewhat sad story for the most part. My heart ached for Clara and the difficulties that she faced. I liked how the book ended, it really gave closure.

Jane Kirkpatrick never disappoints! Her storylines are unique and her characters are engaging. A story of family, love and acceptance.
Mollie and her father have a tenuous relationship. He often left her with others for long periods of time. When he finally comes to claim her, he has a new wife. Fortunately, Mama Ann is a wonderful mother. Mollie falls in love with Peter and her father adamantly refuses to let them get married. They get married despite her father's wishes. Their marriage leads them on many adventures including getting to live on a Native American reservation. They become integrated with the people and raise their large family with their new family.… (meer)
