John Kirwan was a winger for the New Zealand All Black rugby team from 1984 to 1994. After his retirement, he become an advocate for depression awareness in New Zealand and fronted a high-profile television campaign. I'd recommend this book to any proud male suffering from depression. It would also make a good gift for someone suffering in silence. Is this the best book about depression? No. However, this book is not preachy, condescending or too scientific. It is a simple book with small chapters, written by a man who wants to stay well.
