Good book about a great announcer! However, being a rabid A's fan, I was bummed that it took over 1/3 of the book to get to baseball (Raiders and Warriors came first). Still, it was worth it! Korach has so much first hand knowledge of King and it really comes through in his writing. I especially enjoyed the piece about Bill's favorite places to eat in the different American League cities! Great stuff!

Started reading on the day of the A’s home opener, 2022! I really wanted to love this book, but I just found it to be okay. I loved chapter 14, “The Best Games We Ever Saw”! And I enjoyed Rickey Henderson's chapter too! The rest of the book is really more about the daily process of the people who work with and for the Oakland A's. Not much insight to the happenings on the field itself, at least not enough for me. And I hated that a chapter was wasted on Dave Kaval, a man who is breaking the hearts of true A's fans. For me, I wanted more player interviews, insight, and stories. But again, chapter 14 was good enough to add a star to my rating!… (meer)
