It is fascinating to read this book written in 1985 about malls. They weren't new inventions at that time; they were already 20 or more years in existence and much more was to come at a later date. Death of malls. Of course redevelopments are turning former malls into big box centres, power centres, or call them what you will. It is almost a time-capsule look into the earlier decade, and the author goes on at length about these behemoths. Where is he now? I will have to do some further research about the interesting characters mentioned in the book. The author plainly cares about his subject and is entranced by malls as an idea.… (meer)
