EDWARD UNSPOOLED is the third book of Craig Lancaster's Edward Trilogy, about a man living and coping with Asperger's. This time Edward and his wife (at 45 and 39, respectively) are anticipating the birth of their first child. I'm not going to say anything more, except that I found this whole set to be an absolute delight to read. (You can always read my reviews of the first two: 600 HOURS OF EDWARD and EDWARD ADRIFT.) In fact, I'm kinda hoping Edward will be back again. I LOVED these books, and this character! Read these books, and meet Edward Stanton. My very highest recommendation.

A compelling, hilarious, moving sequel to 600 HOURS OF EDWARD, Craig Lancaster's EDWARD ADRIFT picks up Edward's story three years later. His autistic title character narrator is coping with some major changes in his once highly regimented life, and embarks on an extended road trip from his home in Billings across the West and back. Along the way he bonds with a troubled pubescent boy, meets a woman, tries to come to terms with his memories of his recently departed father, and more. I mean this is one helluva trip. I don't know how Craig Lancaster manages to get so completely inside the head of this character, with all the quirky Asperger's OCD tics and habits, but he does, and I am so looking forward to reading the third book in the Edward trilogy. Stay tuned. Very, very highly recommended.

Better than the first book (Which I found very repetitive)! Edward has a few adventures and the story kind of zig zags as it goes.

I've had a run of very good books lately, and Craig Lancaster's 600 HOURS OF EDWARD is another winner. Its narrator-protagonist, 39 year-old Edward, admits to being "developmentally disabled," but not stupid. He knows he has Asperger's and OCD, and he sees a therapist weekly. Estranged from his millionaire father, he lives in a very small house on the opposite side of town from his parents, in Billings, Montana. ....The house was bought for him by his father, who also pays all of Edward's bills. Edward's rigidly structured days begin to be disturbed when a young single mom and her 11 year-old son move in across the street. But enough. The book already has a few thousand reviews, so why tell it all again. Edward is a fine and very likeable character, and Lancaster is a wonderful writer. And there are two sequels. Oh boy! My very highest recommendation.
