When a little ghost named Oliver plans the spookiest party ever, he makes sure all of his spooky friends are invited to the empty house at the end of the street. However, after all the witches, skeletons, bats, and ghosts have arrived, there's one last knock at the door. Who could it be? When Oliver answers, he's surprised by two extra guests who say, "Trick or Treat!" What's a ghost to do? Trick them or give them a treat? Everyone is in for a fun surprise. To find out what is is, check out this Halloween treat and read on.

The Bottom Line: With simple text and playful, watercolor illustrations, Landry delivers a spooky and fun seasonal winner. Enthusiastically recommended for beginning readers in grades Pre-K - 1, especially for little ones a bit hesitant about Halloween.

This was a very easy chapter book. I would suggest this for a beginner chapter book. In this book, it shows you should never give up on your dreams. Bear wanted to be a comedian. and although he had wonderful jokes, he also had huge stage fright. In the end, he found a resolution and became a writer of jokes to Emmy the bird. This book shows the reader teamwork as well.

Nicholas just wants some peace and quiet, but can not find it in his household. He cannot sleep with all of the noise, so Nicholas decides to go to outer space. He packs up a lunch, and goes into his spaceship in the backyard. His rockets shoots up into space, and Nicholas travels to the moon. When he reaches his destination, he begins to eat his lunch in the quiet. He walks around, and takes in the peaceful atmosphere. His quiet place soon turns lonely, and everything reminds him of his family on earth. He gets back in his rocket and goes back home. He is grateful to see his loud family back on earth, and goes right to sleep.

This was a great story that would keep kids engaged throughout. The illustrations were vibrant, and depicted outer space well. Overall, this would be a great picture book to share.

This book would be a good book to use with children ages 3-6. It would be a good book to use during the month of October and have the children do some kind of pumpkin craft with it. It was very short. It talked about a ghost who threw a party and invited some of his friends. Once the party started two unexpected guest arrived. Do the ghosts, witches, bats, cats, and skeletons scare the little kids?
