Elaina Roman just broke up with her boyfriend because he couldn't accept her desire to explore the kinkier sides of sex. On a whim, and thanks to liquid courage courtesy of a few margaritas, she decides to book a week long vacation to a BDSM resort. She doesn't know that she arrived during a couples weekend. Alone and without a Dom, Derrick Collins, the owner of the resort, decides to make her an offer – become his sub for the duration of her stay or leave the island.

I really wanted to like this story because it held my attention up until they started to get down to business. The erotic things he whispered to her sounded so clipped. They fell in love too quickly for me to find it believable. He falls in love with her based on the fact that she responded so beautifully to his commands and all the sex they had was mind-blowing. The anal play happened quickly as well. I'd expect that to happen gradually, especially if the person receiving it is a complete novice. That act needs a lot of trust and preparation, of which there was next to none. There's not much background on the characters either. Derrick mentions his ex's betrayal twice but doesn't elaborate. Then there's the ending that just felt rushed. Elaina's week has come to an end, so there's a frantic rush to get her to stay. Why did that have to happen on the very last day? The sex was good and steamy though, especially the threesome with Lucas.

Even though this story didn't have that wow factor, I still enjoyed it enough to finish it, and I wouldn't say no to reading something else by this author.… (meer)
