This book highlights different animals through the months and season using daytime and nighttime as the setting. The information is given in a rhyming, poetic way accompanied by beautiful illustrations. This is a short book, but gives a great introduction to several themes. At the end of the book are some extra facts about the animals mentioned in the book as well as suggestions for parents/teachers to use the book with kids. This book could be used as an introduction when teaching about animals, whether it nocturnal vs diurnal, habitats, food, care of young etc. This book is probably best used with children 5 to 7 years old as the text and information is relatively simple.
