this book is really informative on the subject at hand.

A good Osprey book with drawings and some useful text. But the frontier was an odd place, and this is too small a book for dealing with its dotty glory. But for visual reinforcement , recommended by me.

An excellent short survey of the history of bicyles, including over 60 pages of photographs and illustrations of rare bicycles and bicycle precursors. Not a lot of detail on fabrication methods, or the design specs, but a very interesting overview of how bicycles evolved up to the mid-1970s (so nothing about mountain bikes).

This early men-at-arms book has long since been surpassed by more specific multiple titles on the Sudan Campaign. It is broad and general in its scope, though the color plates are useful.
