The Good Teen: Rescuing Adolescence from the Myths… door Richard M. Lerner PH.D.
The author provides helpful advice and tips on understanding and managing teenage children, much of it based on his own research.
This book challenges the stereotype that all adolescents are just going through a phase and that they are bound to behave badly because that's just their nature. The author talks about 6 "Cs" that all teenages embody to some degree: competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and contribution. He discusses how teens can develop these areas and what parents can do to help. Interesting perspective, and does touch a bit on the 40 developmental assets, although I wish these were discussed more. Good for parents of teens.… (meer)
