- James Lingard - educated at Dulwich College and University College London - was a leading City of London solicitor with a lifelong interest in history who specialised in banking law and insolvency law as a partner in Norton Rose. He wrote Lingard's Bank Security Documents (LexisNexis Butterworths) now in its 7th edition; numerous articles and gave many lectures. Since his retirement, he has written:- Britain at War 1939 to 1945 a concise history of the war; The Girl Who Disappeared a fact based 20th century historical romance with rave reviews; The Caucasus Cauldron an action packed thriller and Trapped in Iran an action adventure thriller about Israelis in the 1979 Iranian revolution. Amy's Bookshelf Reviews has made him one of its Legacy Authors and ranked him as a 2022 top 20 author.

-The party seemed to pass all the checkpoints too easily, which diminished the suspense of the book.
-some sections seemed improbable under the extreme circumstances they were dealing with, i.e., the timing of the first kiss between Guy and Emma, sex in the dunes, picking up the young girl in Tehran, being allowed to stay at the bomber after the colonel knew they were not who they initially said they were.
-it's a fascinating read that could be fleshed out a bit more.
-On a more positive note, I was compelled to continue reading to see what would happen next.… (meer)
