I wound up being really impressed with this read. I really loved the characters and the lbgtq storylines in the this book. I really the realtionships between the characters and the birds. It was such a fast pace read that had so many moments that i did not want to put this book down. This book did deal with many harder topics like abuse, animals violence and also self harm. It was read that I really enjoyed. The one things i wish was stronger was the world building but i am hopeful this will become clearer the more books i read in this series.… (meer)

LOVED the premise of this. Loved loved loved. This is worth reading for the premise alone. Loved the dynamics between the three main characters. But otherwise, this fell into the dystopian trap of having a complex solution that was hard to buy and led to an extraordinary chase, and maybe I've just been reading too many books with this formula.

I like that Alex London left the ending of this story open enough that it could become a duology, trilogy, or series, or it could be a standalone novel. I will say, I am hoping for a series. I would love to be able to learn how each princess/prince was able to update their story.
