Great for children with a great imagination
I liked this book for several reasons. First, I liked the main character, Ping-Li. Children and students would be able to identify him in the sense that he is inpatient. Another reason I liked this book was for the colorful illustrations. The illustrations really added to the story. They showed how Ping-Li's kite was the best of all the kites at the end of the story. A final reason I liked this story was for the message it sends to children. The message is to listen to others and to always put in effort into everything you do.… (meer)
A little girl finds a pair of flippers on the beach. She makes them into mermaid shoes and adds a tail using an old skirt of her Mom's. She searches and finally finds a place where she can put her new found identity to use.
