Long Island Historical Society - Korte biografie
- MYRON H. LUKE served for many years on the history
faculty of C. W. Post College, from which he retired in 1973
as Professor Emeritus of History. He received his undergraduate
education from Oberlin College, his masters
degree from Syracuse University, and his Ph.D. from New
York University. Before joining the faculty at C. W. Post, he
taught at the Syracuse Collegiate Center, the Institute of
Applied Agriculture at Farmingdale, and Hofstra University.
At C. W. Post, he served as chairman of the Department
of History and Political Science and as the director of the
Division of Social Science. He is a former president of the
Long Island Historical Society and is active in bicentennial
affairs in Nassau County and the Town of Hempstead. He
writes and lectures on Long Island history and is currently
serving as historian of the Town of Hempstead. He and his
wife reside in West Hempstead.
